Graveyard Gains

Hey, night owls!

Working the night shift led me to create this blog.

Nung nag-apply ako sa trabaho at tinanong ako, "This is a night shift work, okay ka ba doon?"

Dahil desperado akong makahanap ng trabaho,

"I think I can handle that" ang mabilis kong sagot.

Hindi ko alam na magiging wild ride pala ito. Hayayay.

The work stress became too much and I hit rock bottom.

I was working long hours, ordering fast food, and felt drained.

Naalala ko, isang gabi, nakaupo ako sa magulong studio apartment ko, napapalibutan ng mga takeout containers, at talagang na-feel ko na defeated na ako. Nakakapagod na this.

Madali lang na wala na lang gawin, sabihin sa sarili ko na wala akong oras o energy para magbago.

Then something inside me snapped.

I decided, right then and there, to take action and reclaim my life.

The moment I chose to control what I could, things began to change little by little.

I started to feel more vibrant, more alive. The zombie days decreased.

Hindi naging madali sa simula. Hindi laging perfect ang mga araw, pero alam kong okay lang iyon as long as I bounced back.

There were days when I wanted to go back to my old ways - to skip the good habits I was trying to develop. But I pushed through, remembering why I started.

Looking back now, I realize none of these positive changes would have happened if I hadn’t taken that first step.

I had to act to get the results I needed.

My journey to better health started with that first step, and I want to share my thoughts to help you.

If you are a night shifter reading this, this is for you.
